Minimal Payback Period
Unlike silica sand, Durafilter does not need to be changed every 5 years, it will almost certainly outlast your filter tank. Pools using Durafilter use less chlorine and need to be backwashed less. You can expect a payback period of less than 12 months when converting from sand to Durafilter.

Superior Performance
Durafilter is largely self sterilizing and is cleaned with approx 50% less back wash water. Durafilter will remove smaller particles from pool water. Under controlled conditions using sand, 90% of all particles down to 10 microns were removed. Under the same conditions using Durafilter particle sizes down to 5 microns were removed.

How To Use
Simply remove sand and replace with Durafilter, layering with Grade 3 at the bottom. It is usual to use between 10% and 20% of total as the bed volume. Grade 1 is then placed on top of the Grade3.
